    Stuart Murphy is the Chief Executive of the English National Opera. From 2012 - 2015, he was Director of Entertainment Channels at Sky overseeing Sky 1, Sky Living, Sky Arts and the launch of Sky Atlantic. Under his tenure Sky won its first Emmy Awards and Oscar nominations as well as picking up multiple BAFTAs, British Comedy Awards and Royal Television Society Awards. Stuart oversaw Sky Arts, increasing the channel's commissioning budget by more than 40% to turn it into the biggest on-demand library of arts and cultural content in Europe.


    Previous to his work at Sky, Stuart devised, launched and ran BBC Three in 2003, commissioning shows such as Little Britain, Gavin and Stacey and Flashmob The Opera


    Stuart was made a Fellow of the Royal Television Society in 2016.


    Stuart has recently stated that he wants to broaden the appeal of opera and mix up the age, ethnicity, and social background of the audience at the ENO.


    Stuart will be in conversation with club member, Dr Harry Brunjes.


     Harry is in his fifth year as Chairman of English National Opera and the London Coliseum. Qualified and practised in medicine at Guy’s Hospital and latterly Harley Street, Harry is also a musician. Born to a showbusiness father and married to a professional dancer, Harry is no stranger to the entertainment world. Harry is also Chairman of the Premier Medical Group and of Lancing College.
